But You Seem Fine to Me
Recently I met a relative stranger who had read my first book and wanted to discuss it. I was delighted to hear that the book, which focuses on young Muslim Americans, had made him reconsider his stereotypes about Muslims and Islam. After our tête-à-tête about the book, he asked me about the topic of my next book. I told him that it was along the same lines—another attempt to address stereotypes, stigma and discrimination. Only this time it was about bipolar disorder. He didn’t get it.
