Absolutely! My favorite therapist has bipolar disorder too. It was awesome because sometimes he would tell me a story about his experiences. He was a high school teacher first, and then later went to school to be a therapist. Any time I started saying anything that was self-deprecating he would stop me and point it out. Then we would talk about why I was putting myself down, how to work through that, etc.
